Lacrosse fans will want to have an ESPN+ subscription as the platform will be the home of the Premier Lacrosse League and Maybelline Women’s Lacrosse League games for the next five years. ESPN and the leagues reached a new media rights agreement that will make ESPN platforms the home of all PLL games, including regular season, all-star, playoff, and championship contests, as well as WLL games and each league’s future drafts.
As part of the new agreement, ESPN made a minor investment in the PLL as the media giant sees potential significant growth in the league.

ESPN’s renewed commitment, along with their investment, speaks volumes about the future of lacrosse,” said PLL Co-Founder and President, Paul Rabil. “Together, we’re not only bringing the best in professional lacrosse to more fans, more often, but we’re building a model for how modern sports leagues can grow – with equity, innovation, and access at the center.”

As ESPN gears up for the launch of its new direct-to-consumer service later this year, securing the PLL and WLL media rights gives the platform a steady inventory of content. The app will bring all of ESPN’s networks and the sports that air on them all to one place. In addition to ESPN+, select lacrosse matches from each league will air across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2.
