Good news for sports fans ESPN is improving its multicast feature that lets viewers watch up to four games simultaneously through the ESPN app. This feature was first launched back in 2017, but now ESPn is adding improved multicast on the Apple TV and Xbox. The pre-built Multicasts will feature a slate of high-profile live events, including PGA TOUR LIVE and early rounds of US Open tennis, leading up to the full launch for College Football’s first Saturday of the season.

Unlike YouTube TV’s Multiview, where you can’t pick what games you want to watch with ESPN you will be able to pick what games you want to watch. Also, ESPN will let you have to pick from prebuilt multicast feeds featuring the biggest events of the day. You will be able to watch up to 4 simultaneous live streams at once. Fans can swap primary screens, flip audio, expand to full screen, and go back to Multicast.

Now you will find live multicasts of popular sporting events in the home screen’s featured area. This will make multicast much more to a more easily found area on the screen.

ESPN says on high-volume days, the ESPN App delivers upwards of 300+ live events across ESPN channels and ESPN+ streaming, with as many as ~150 concurrent events. This means you will now be able to watch multiple events at one time from a single screen.

Originally this was limited to the Apple TV now it is coming to Xbox and hopefully more devices soon.

Update: We have updated our story to make it clear you can also pick what games you want to watch with mulicast.
