After countless stories of Netflix luring executives away from other companies like Activision and ABC, we have a report that one of Netflix’s own executives has been hired away by Disney+.
According to a report from Deadline, Disney+ has hired Matt Brodlie, the Director of Original Film from Netflix. At Disney+, Brodlie will serve as Senior Vice President of International Content Development. In the new role, Brodlie will develop the film and TV strategy for markets outside of the US.
“As we look to rollout Disney+ beyond the U.S. over the next several years, Matt will play a critical role in the execution of our content strategy,” said Ricky Strauss, President of Content & Marketing. “He is a proven executive with the right creative instincts and experience to help make Disney+ a place where talent can create original, high-quality content for audiences worldwide. We’re thrilled to have him join our team.”
“I am excited about this opportunity to join Disney+ at this pivotal moment and look forward to working collaboratively with the teams around the world to create premium entertainment that is relevant and enduring,” added Brodlie.
Disney+ is set to launch on November 12 this year. Read more about the original content we’ll see from the streaming service here.
