Today Disney+ made its highly anticipated arrival in parts of Europe. The streaming service is now Live in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland. Now, audiences in Europe can stream over 500 films, 26 exclusive original movies and series and thousands of television episodes from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more.

However, like many other streaming services, Disney+ has made the decision to launch with lower streaming quality. Disney announced that “in light of concerns regarding the current ability of certain broadband infrastructure to handle the anticipated consumer demand,” the streaming service will be operating at a lower bandwidth utilization of “at least 25%.”

Disney+ was also scheduled to launch in France today but agreed to postpone the launch until Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the request of the French government. Disney+ is scheduled to hit more Western European countries later this summer, including Belgium, the Nordics, and Portugal. Check out our full list of content available on Disney+ UK here.
