Ever struggle to get your antenna in the right spot? Now DISH wants to help antenna installers quickly find the best spot to install your antenna with a new over-the-air signal meter that will quickly help them find the right spot to install your antenna.
This new $119 device can pair with an Android or iOS device and allow you to see the best spot in your house to put your antenna. Similar devices in the past can cost $1,000 or more.
The new DISH OTA Signal Meter was manufactured by the Winegard Company and is currently being used by all DISH In-Home Service technicians. DISH is offering the device for sale to all DISH authorized retail partners, distributors and affiliate partners for $119. Sadly, for now, it seems that this device is not for sale to the general public.
DISH is using this device to help improve its antenna installation service. Right now DISH charges $99 for an indoor antenna install and $150 for an outdoor antenna install. (This price includes the cost of the antenna.) If you recently had an antenna installed by a DISH Tech you may have seen them use the app. In our recent test of the service, we saw them use it and very quickly it helped them find the right spot for the antenna.
Hopefully, DISH opens up this new device to more installers to help even more people quickly find the right antenna location for them.
