Today, DISH announced that it will now be offering a free Netflix if you sign up for a two-year TV contract from DISH. This deal will give DISH customers two years of Netflix’s standard with ads plan that can be accessed directly from their DISH set-top box.
“Finding something new to love has never been easier,” said Gary Schanman, executive vice president and group president, DISH Video Services. “We’re committed to enhancing our customers’ viewing experience by offering them the best content in the most convenient way possible. Our new DISH and Netflix bundle is a testament to that commitment.”
This is a huge win for Netflix as it will bring millions of new subscribers to its streaming service with ads. DISH likely hopes that it will help keep people subscribed by convincing them to switch to a long-term contract in order to get free Netflix.
