Later this year, Discovery+ and HBO Max will merge into a new combined service. Many fans of Discovery+ have been worried that this will mean they will need to pay a much higher price for their content. Now The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Discovery+ will remain as a standalone cheaper option compared to the newly merged service.

Since Warner Bros. and Discovery merged, the leadership, there has talked about offering a combined Discovery+ and HBO Max service. This would give a discount vs owning both separately and hopefully attracting more customers.

The fear at Warner Bros. Discovery now is that many fans of Discovery+ will just cancel if they are forced to pay a higher price for HBO Max content they don’t want.

The new combined service will reportedly launch in the Spring or Summer of 2023. It has been rumored one of the names considered for the new service is Max.

Are you excited that Discovery+ will remain its own service? Leave us a comment and let us know.
