Today, DIRECTV and Tegna announced that they have reached a deal to bring back 64 Tegna-owned TV stations in 51 markets. This comes after the stations went dark on DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM in late 2023.

This deal will keep Tegna stations on DIRECTV for years to come. With this deal, Tegna TV stations will soon be readded to DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and U-verse. If your local is not live yet, it will be soon. This deal comes just in time for the NFL playoffs happening this weekend.

In a statement from DIRECTV and Tegna, they said:

DIRECTV and TEGNA have reached a new multiyear distribution agreement covering TEGNA’s 64 owned stations in 51 Nielsen designated markets. All stations and programming will return to DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM and U-verse customers today.

DIRECTV and TEGNA greatly appreciate the patience of their subscribers and viewers.

The exact terms of the deal have not been announced.
