Have you been thinking about getting DIRECTV STREAM? You may want to pay close attention to the channel lineup on its cheap entertainment package. Yesterday for new customers DIRECTV moved the channels A+E, History, Lifetime, and Vice to more expensive packages removing them from its entertainment package on DIRECTV STREAM.

Update: In a statement sent to Cord Cutters News a DIRECTV Spokesperson said: “We made the update for new customers to simplify our channel lineup by package across platforms.”

This change only affects new customers as it seems anyone with the channels already will get to keep them. This move helps DIRECTV STREAM cut costs by not having to pay royalties to the channels. This change was first spotted by Streaming Better. To get these channels, you will now need a Choice package or higher to get the now missing channels.

DIRECTV satellite and DIRECTV via internet customers can still get these channels as a part of its Entertainment lineup.

Cord Cutters News has reached out to DIRECTV for comments and will update our story as we learn more.
