DIRECTV today announced that it will be raising the price of DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM on November 5, 2023. This is the second price hike on DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM in 2023, as the price went up back in January 2023.
DIRECTV has confirmed both its satellite and streaming services will be going up in November. Both DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM will go up between $2 a month and $11 a month, depending on your package. The average price hike is $5 a month for most customers. U
This news comes a few weeks after DISH announced it would be raising the price of its satellite service.
DIRECTV says they are raising the price of DIRECTV STREAM because they are “adjusting the price of your television package in order to remain competitive in the marketplace, while still delivering the best possible programming. TV networks are continuing to increase the fees they charge DIRECTV® for the right to distribute the content they produce, including movies, shows, and sporting events. We remain steadfast in our commitment to bring you the best programming at a fair and reasonable price.”
A DIRECTV Spokesperson told Cord Cutters News, “Like other distributors, we’re adjusting our pricing because of the higher cost networks are charging to distribute national and local programming. We remain focused on delivering the best value.”
A DIRECTV spokesman wasn’t immediately available to comment on whether the price increases will affect its core satellite service as well.
This price hike will bring the Entertainment package price up to $74.99 when the price hike takes effect in November. The Ultimate package will now cost $109.99 a month with DIRECTV STREAM.
