Over the last few months DIRECTV NOW has been known for crashes, unexplained blackouts, and poor customer service. Yet AT&T has been been working to respond to these issues by rolling out a long list of app updates in a effort to address the growing list of complaints.
Now it seems that the updates are working as subscribers said the recent premiere of the Walking Deal went smoothly but still could have been better.
Here are a few responses from our readers about the Walking Dead premiere on DIRECTV NOW:
“One buffer, about 10 seconds. Restored perfectly.”
“Go stuck on my laptop for a second, yet on my phone it was awesome.”
“One small hiccup here or there, but greatly improved.”
“Works really well for over two weeks on Amazon Fire box, Apple TV and iPhone …”
Yet others did report some buffering from time to time on the stream.
“Live TV is greatly improved. On demand is still pretty bad. I have zero problems with Netflix or amazon instant video, or HBO go. But dtvn on demand buffers, stutters and needs major work.”
So it seems AT&T has improved the streaming quality on their service. Well still not perfect it has come a long ways. Now hopefully AT&T will add some new support options like phone support or more chat agents to cut down on long wait times.
The main issue for DIRECTV NOW to address is just the lack of communication. Many of these fixes just slipped out and if you didn’t notice the update you may have never known there was an update. Hopefully DIRECTV NOW does a better job of communicating with their subscribers on what they are doing to address their concerns.
Overall DIRECTV NOW is noticeably improved over where it was even a month ago. Yet many of the communications issues with subscribers still have yet to be addressed.
