Earlier this week DIRECTV NOW rolled out a backend update to their DIRECTV NOW beta. Today DIRECTV NOW has started to invite DIRECTV NOW beta testers on iOS and Apple TV to test out a new updated DIRECTV NOW app.
Thanks to some readers we do know AT&T is testing a second DIRECTV NOW beta app on iOS and tvOS but we are not sure exactly what is new.

Hello Testers,
This evening we will be upgrading a few things. This upgrade will run from 4 – 10 PM PST. During this time you will still be able to beta test as usual, although you might experience intermittent streaming issues. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

AT&T has not said what exactly is new in this updated app it is likely has to do with bugfixes on the backend servers that host DIRECTV NOW. If you notice any changes please reach out to Cord Cutters News and let us know.
