DIRECTV NOW is Having Issues With Local ABC, CBS, FOX, & NBC Channels

Have you been getting error messages when you try to watch local channels on DIRECTV NOW? Well, you are not alone as we are receiving a flood of reports form DIRECTV NOW that local ABC, CBS, FOX, & NBC channels are not working.

As best we can tell this issue is limited to select devices. One of the most popular being the Fire TV. We have received multiple reports that DIRECTV NOW on the FIre TV is giving location error messages, so it won’t let them access their local channels.

This is not the only issue with DIRECTV NOW. You may have noticed that suddenly all regional sports networks are showing in your guide today. When you click on them, the channel won’t play unless you are physically in that market yet they still show in the guide. These kinds of issues have happened from time to time. So my suggestion would be to just ignore them for now.

One possible fix is to use your DIRECTV NOW login to access the network apps. This should give DIRECTV NOW subscribers access to their locals by using the network’s app on the Fire TV.

Hopefully, AT&T fixes the issue with the locals on DIRECTV NOW soon. If you are having the issue and have a different streaming player in your house, you may want to try and see if that device will work for you.
