Over the last few months, DIRECTV NOW has slowly been beta testing their DVR feature. Now they have added the ability to DVR HBO shows and movies.

In the past, if you missed something on HBO you had to wait and hope it was uploaded to HBO on demand. Starting yesterday DIRECTV NOW allows you to DVR shows, meaning you can watch the show at any time without having to wait for the on-demand version to go public.

Earlier this year Hulu also added support for DVRing HBO but most live TV streaming services do not support DVRing HBO content.

DIRECTV NOW has promised other DVR updates including a 100 hour DVR add-on. As of today, they have not launched but hopefully, it comes soon.
