DIRECTV announced today that it will launch its app on Meta Quest headsets, bringing its live TV and on-demand content into a virtual reality experience.
The DIRECTV app is now available in the Meta Horizon Store and in Meta Horizon TV. The app is available on Meta Quest 3 and 3S, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest Pro. And it’s not just paid DIRECTV subscribers who can use it. MyFree DIRECTV is also available through the app, so anyone can explore DIRECTV’s VR offering.
With the app, Meta Quest users can watch TV and movies with a theater-like display in a virtual viewing space. Catch the NBA playoffs, switch channels to check out a new series, and interact with content in real time. The app includes live TV and sports from DIRECTV’s Signature Packages and Genre Packs, over 100,000 on-demand titles, and the free content included with MyFree DIRECTV.
