TCL 8 Roku TV Front

TCL will be slashing the prices of its Mini-LED TVs, the 8 Series, this week.

From June 12-14, you can purchase the 65-inch 8-Series for just $999.99 and the massive 75-inch model for $1799.99, exclusively from Best Buy, both in store and online.

TCL showcased the new TVs powered by Vidrian Mini–LED technology at CES in January. Here’s what Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL North America, shared about the new technology:

“Mini–LED backlight technology is critical for delivering powerful contrast performance and TCL is proud to have launched the world’s first TV with mini–LED backlight, featuring over 25,000 micro–meter class backlights in the high–performance 2019 8–Series TV here in the US, and different models in other regions, to deliver extraordinary contrast and brilliant clarity. Last year’s launch of mini–LED backlight technology in TCL TVs disrupted the industry but we certainly aren’t stopping there. TCL continues to drive even better performance with this powerful mini–LED innovation and will make mini–LED technology more widely available throughout this year’s TCL lineup.”

And here are just a few of the features of the 8-series:

  • Quantum Contrast technology: Our new mini-LED backlight technology offers powerful and precise control of brilliantly bright and deeply dark areas of the image, delivering depth, dimension, and contrast. The viewing experience is improved throughout the screen.
  • High-Performance Mini-LEDs: The 8-Series uses high-performance mini-LEDs to bring precise local dimming and smooth, uniform illumination.
  • Dolby Vision HDR: Provides images with superior color, contrast and brightness, so all your favorite movies, shows and games come to life in stunning clarity.
  • Dolby Atmos: Advanced technology inspired by the cinema, Atmos adds an immersive, lifelike surround sound experience in every scene.
  • Contrast Control Zones: Quantum Contrast is made of approximately 1,000 control zones, this minimizes unwanted artifacts, such as “halos,” associated with other LED-LCD TVs. This also allows for the brighter whites and darker blacks on screen at the same time.
  • FullView: Enjoy a clean, contemporary edge-to-edge glass display that blends seamlessly into your viewing experience.
  • Superior 4K Ultra HD: Picture clarity combines with the contrast, color, and detail of Dolby Vision HDR (High Dynamic Range) for the most lifelike picture.
  • 2160p resolution for breathtaking HD images: Watch 4K movies and TV shows at 4x the resolution of Full HD, and upscale your current HD content to gorgeous, Ultra HD-level picture quality.
  • Built-in Roku smart platform delivers access to a world of entertainment: Stream from Disney+, Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Prime Video, or choose from more than 4,000 other streaming channels.
  • Natural Motion 480: Delivers exceptionally smooth clarity during fast action scenes.
