Today, Electric Entertainment announced Season 3 of CW’s show The Outpost will resume production this month on location in Serbia after being postponed back in March due to coronavirus shutdowns. This is one of the first signs of production in the industry returning to the studio since restrictions have slowly been lifting around social distancing.

“We are excited to be one of the first productions to resume after the TV and film industry was put on pause,” said Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment. “Balkanic Media has gone above and beyond to ensure everyone’s safety on-set, and we are happy that the third season of “The Outpost” will be completed and ready to premiere Fall 2020.”

But resuming production doesn’t mean business as usual. Production on The Outpost will be supervised by Dr. Branka Matijasevic, Doctor of Medicine, Head of Policlinic Eterna Medical System in Belgrade to ensure safety measures are taken and adhered to by crew members and everyone on site. There’s an extensive post-lockdown plan with guidelines on working standards and restrictions to ensure everyone stays safe.

“After examining the content of the Post-isolation Plan for the continuation of production of “The Outpost,” Season 3, I can state that the Plan meets the requirements of all standards in COVID-19 prevention prescribed by the Institute of Public Health of Serbia,” Dr. Matijasevic stated. “As one of the essential measures I propose daily physical examinations for the cast, conducted upon arrival to the studio and consisting of the following procedures: auscultation of lungs and heart, ECG, tension measurement, saturation measurement and check for febrile. Results would be filed and kept. Crew members would be examined weekly, one pod at a time, following the same procedure as the cast. Each member of cast and crew will have a medical file with record of all examinations, and it would be accessible for review per request.”

Season 3 Summary

In Season 3, Talon has summoned Zed and his Blackblood comrades to save the Outpost. She finds herself betrayed by her own kind, and struggles to reconcile her human friends and her Blackblood heritage. With the demonic Lu Qiri providing the muscle to enforce Zed’s master plan, the Outpost’s human inhabitants are enslaved as miners in search of a mysterious substance to solve a dark riddle. From her bedroom under house arrest, Gwynn plots her escape and the overthrow of her new foes. To save her beloved Garret (Stormoen), Talon is forced to summon a Blackblood Priestess named Yavalla (Jaye Griffiths) into the world. Yavalla prophesies of a paradise for Blackbloods, and an era of peace for the world, but she soon discovers a power that threatens every living creature. As Gwynn and Tobin become Yavalla’s unwilling allies, Talon and her friends must fight, suffer, and sacrifice their way to save each other and vanquish their new enemies. As Talon discovers more about her lost family from Yavalla, she must piece together the truths from the lies, and solve the mystery of her heritage and a forgotten power, before the world becomes enslaved to a new power that could consume every living being.
