Today CuriosityStream announced that they are cutting the cost of their subscription streaming service and is launching a free ad-supported version. This all comes as CuriosityStream announced a slower than expected growth in subscribers.
The new price for CuriosityStream’s HD plan is now just $2.99 a month down from $5.99 a month. The 4K plan now costs $9.99 a month down from $11.99 a month. You will also be able to access some of their content for free with ads through their CuriosityStream Showcase.
If you watch the CuriosityStream Showcase you will now find a 15-second unskippable ad at the start of the show. The first sponsorship went live today with Sprint.
CuriosityStream comes from the founder of the Discovery Channel and offers a range of great programming. CuriosityStream is available on Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One, Apple TV, Android, and iOS.
