Are you a Cox Communications customer? Have you been noticing faster connection speeds? Last week, the company announced it upgraded its broadband packages without increasing prices for over 75 percent of its user base.
Cox Communications upgraded customers on the 250 Mbps tier up to 500 Mbps so they now have access to download speeds of at least half-gig. Customers with the 150 Mbps tier were bumped up to 250 Mbps.
Additionally, Cox Communications rolled out five new speed tiers with easy-to-understand plan names:
- Go Fast – 100 Mbps for $49.99 per month with no annual contract or cancellation fees
- Go Faster – 250 Mbps for $69.99 per month with no annual contract or cancellation fees
- Go Even Faster – 500 Mbps for $49.99 per month with a 12-month contract
- Go Super Fast – 1 Gbps for $99.99 per month with a 12-month contract
- Go Beyond Fast – 2 Gbps and prices depend on location, not available everywhere
As stated in Cox Communication’s announcement, members with half a gig can expect to
- Download an entire HD movie in less than 10 seconds
- Download 10 mobiles games in less than 5 seconds
- Download an entire music album in less than 2 seconds
Cox Communications has been investing over $20 billion to upgrade its fiber-powered network and launch additional product upgrades to provide faster speeds for internet, TV, mobile devices, phones, smart homes, and more over the last 10 years. By the end of 2023, the company has vowed to make multi-gig speeds available to around half of its residential customers.
One of the fruits of these investments is geared towards providing business owners with the fastest connections possible through Cox Communications connections. Businesses can get speeds up to 100 Gbps.
Over 7 million homes and businesses spanning 18 states use Cox Communications for their internet needs. It is one of the largest private broadband companies in the United States.
Cox Communications has stated it will continue to make multibillion-dollar investments to further develop infrastructures in upcoming years.
