Are you looking for a way to keep more money in your pocket? Maybe you should think about becoming a cord cutter and ditching your pay-TV service.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the average cord cutter saves $104 every month or $1,248 every year. According to multiple studies, there are an estimated 20 million cord cutters in the United States. (According to AT&T at their recently DIRECTV NOW press event.) Put it all together and that is over $2 billion every month put back into cord cutters’ pockets.
So why is that important? Well $2 billion is more than the gross domestic product of the poorest 15 nations in the world. Just look at it on a small level: $1,248 every year over 20 years is $24,960—enough money to buy a very nice car. Or if you stretch it enough to help pay for a child’s college education.
So if you are only just thinking about being a cord cutter or you know someone who is, make sure to tell them how being a cord cutter can save you $1,248 every year.
