As Community fans prepare for the long-awaited film that is finally in the works, Netflix will soon expel the community college group from the platform. Seasons one through six of Community will leave Netflix on April 1, and What’s On Netflix confirmed this is not an April Fool’s prank.

The last day to binge Community on Netflix is March 31. After that date, the series will only be available to stream on Hulu. But don’t go full Abed at the loss of this popular show. It’s not leaving streaming forever and is still on other platforms like Hulu and Prime Video.

Community found a refreshed fan base on Netflix, one of several shows that saw a revitalized jump in popularity after joining the streamer. Friends gained a special reunion episode on Max, and a Suits spinoff series is coming to the platform. The next hit series coming to the platform this April is Sex and the City, which already has a spinoff, And Just Like That… with two seasons.

While Community is leaving Netflix, the film is finally happening. The confirmed cast includes Joel McHale, Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. Show creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Andrew Guest will also contribute.

Originally titled Six Seasons and A Movie, a quip from the show’s early seasons, it has been shortened to And A Movie.

Six Seasons and a Movie started out as a cheeky line from Community’s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious, and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy,” said Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony, and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences.”

Peacock and Sony TV picked up the film in 2022, along with the rights to the series. Community hasn’t debuted on Peacock yet, but it could soon, considering And A Movie will stream exclusively on the platform. Harmon said the script is almost finished. Filming is set to begin this year, but a release date has yet to be scheduled.
