We all know the old adage about how April showers bring mass destruction, right? Well, COMET TV does and they are diving into spring with a packed April lineup filled with sci-fi staples, creature features, and end-of-the-world action. The free over-the-air network is leaning into its cult classic roots with themed marathons, franchise blocks, and genre-heavy weekends.
For cord cutters, COMET remains one of the top free TV options for science fiction and horror fans. It’s available over the air in many markets and also streams live on services like Samsung TV Plus, Stirr, and Frndly TV.
The month kicks off with a Zombie Mini-Marathon on Saturday, April 5 starting at 2 PM EST. Fans of the undead can settle in for a full afternoon and evening of classic zombie flicks.
On Sunday, April 6 at 12 PM EST, COMET shifts gears with a Mini-Series Marathon, featuring stories ranging from undead mythology to epic ancient tales.
From there, action takes center stage on Friday, April 11 with a full day of chaos featuring Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the Mega Shark series, and Sharknado. Programming begins at 9 AM EST and continues throughout the day.
Terminator 2 returns the following afternoon on Saturday, April 12 at 3 PM EST as part of the COMET Mega Movie block, alongside the Jean-Claude Van Damme time-travel film Timecop.
Later in the month, COMET leans into disaster with Before the World Ends, airing Saturday, April 19 at 2 PM EST. The apocalyptic theme includes falling meteors, environmental destruction, and everything else you’d expect in a good end-times double feature.
Closing out April, the network will air an X-Files Season Finale Marathon on Saturday, April 27 starting at 11 AM EST. It’s a curated lineup of season-ending episodes from one of the most iconic sci-fi series of all time.
In addition to the special events, COMET’s regular programming lineup includes:
- Grimm – Weekdays at 4 PM EST
- The X-Files – Weeknights at 9 PM EST
- Tales from the Darkside – Weekdays at 8:30 AM EST
