Last month, Comcast announced it will no longer be including free access to Peacock’s streaming services. Free access has been included in eligible Comcast packages since 2020. This was specific to consumers with a Flex streaming or X1-powered device and ends June 26th, 2023.
Instead, Comcast is offering a discount on Peacock’s Premium tier plan for a limited time only. Starting June 27th, customers can sign up for Peacock’s streaming service for only $3 a month by simply saying “Peacock” into their Comcast voice-activated remote.
If you previously had access to Peacock, you will need to resubscribe to maintain your membership. The promotion includes a year-long membership to Peacock Premium, valued at $49.99 annually or $4.99 a month. You must sign up by August 25th, 2023 to be included in the deal, otherwise to keep streaming Peacock content you’d have to purchase a regular membership through the platform.
As stated on Peacock’s Help Center:
- If you want to keep your Premium access going, keep an eye out for another special offer from Xfinity after June 26th. You should see it in your email inbox and when you open Peacock on your set-top box or TV device.
- If you don’t want to keep your Premium access going, don’t do a thing. You won’t be charged for Peacock, and you’ll still be able to watch a limited amount of content for free. (What if I upgraded to Premium Plus? Your $5.00 subscription to Peacock Premium Plus will also stop auto-renewing once your June billing cycle ends.)
Sources report customers who have signed up for Comcast Rewards and are in the Diamond or Platinum tiers can trade reward credits to continue their free Peacock Premium memberships. Peacock also offers a limited free tier plan to Comcast users, which doesn’t unlock all Peacock Premium content.
Additionally, Peacock is offering new subscribers (with or without Comcast contracts) a special deal this summer. For $19.99, anyone in the U.S. who signs up for a new account with the code “SUMMEROFPEACOCK” will get access to Peacock’s complete content library of films, original programming, live sports, and more.
