Comcast is rolling out a major upgrade to its Xfinity Mobile 5G service, delivering significantly faster speeds and more reliable connections for customers at no additional cost. In a move designed to enhance the mobile experience, Xfinity Mobile is rolling out prioritized data for all plans, including by the gig, unlimited, and unlimited premium plans, ensuring users enjoy a stronger connection even in crowded areas or during high-traffic events like concerts or sports games.

The prioritized data feature is available in July for all Xfinity Mobile customers. To activate the upgrade, customers need only to restart their phone or toggle Airplane mode on and off. Comcast emphasized that this enhancement comes at no extra charge, reinforcing the company’s focus on delivering value to its customers. However, after 20 GB of data usage per billing cycle, speeds may still be reduced during periods of high network congestion.

When the new speeds are ready, customers will get an email from Comcast reminding them to restart their phones.

This announcement builds on Xfinity Mobile’s recent efforts to elevate its offerings. Earlier this year, the company introduced its Premium Unlimited plan, which includes premium features such as twice-a-year phone upgrades, full 4K UHD streaming, expanded mobile hotspot data, and advanced spam call blocking. These enhancements have positioned Xfinity Mobile as a growing competitor in the wireless industry, blending high-end mobile perks with Comcast’s robust network infrastructure.

In addition to the 5G upgrade, Xfinity Mobile customers can now take advantage of Wi-Fi PowerBoost, a feature that provides access to ultra-fast WiFi speeds at millions of locations nationwide. From cafes to public parks, WiFi PowerBoost ensures seamless connectivity for users on the go, complementing the enhanced 5G service.
