Comcast & Spectrum Are Offering Internet For Free if You Qualify

Are you struggling to find affordable home internet? Comcast and Spectrum are offering affordable internet plans that can be free if you qualify. These plans target low-income families that want help with their internet.

This is all a part of the Affordable COnnectivity Program by the federal government to help low-income families get internet.

Comcast has a program called Internet Essentials that may just help you get 50 Mbps internet for just $9.95 a month or 100 Mbps internet for $29.95 a month if you qualify. What is even better is if you qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program, you can get these plans for free.

Here is how Comcast describes these plans:

Internet Essentials provides affordable home Internet for qualifying households ($9.95/mo for up to 50 Mbps, or $29.95/mo for up to 100 Mbps) — as well as low-cost computers, free WiFi hotspots, and free Internet training.

You could get your Internet service for free when you qualify for and enroll in ACP and Internet Essentials or Internet Essentials Plus. Learn more at https://www.xfinity.com/free

Who is eligible for Internet Essentials? Here is what Comcast says:

You may qualify if you:

• Live in an area where Xfinity Internet service is available

• Qualify for programs like the National School Lunch Program, housing assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, and others, or are enrolled or enrolling in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with Xfinity

• Have not had Xfinity Internet within the last 90 days (unless enrolled in ACP with Xfinity)*

• Have no outstanding debt to Comcast that is less than one year old (unless enrolled in ACP with Xfinity)*

*The 90-day and outstanding debt eligibility requirements are also temporarily being waived through December 31, 2023, for new Xfinity Internet customers regardless of enrollment in ACP with Xfinity.

Spectrom offers a program called Internet Assist that, if you qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program, will be free. This plan does not include WiFi, but you can use your own router or pay $5 a month to Spectrum for WiFi.
