Do you have Comcast as your internet service provider? You may want to check your speed. Today Comcast confirmed to Multichannel News that it has raised the speeds of one of its most popular package the Performance Internet tier in several markets, including Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Houston, and Tucson, Ariz.

This jumps Comcast subscribers from 50 Mbps to 70 Mbps. (To see this speed you may need to restart your modem.)

It seems that Comcast started this upgrade on March 1st 2017. Yet if you have a older modem that is not the 3.0 or higher standard you will need to upgrade to get the speed boost. If you rent your modem you will get a free upgrade. If you own a modem and need to upgrade check out our list of recommended Comcast Modems HERE.

“We realize technological innovations are occurring rapidly, and our customers need the speed to make the most of them,” Ralph Martinez, senior vice president of Comcast’s Houston region, said in a statement.
