CNN Becomes More Cord-Cutting Friendly

The CNNgo app has been around for some time. If you had a supported pay subscription to CNN you could log in to the app for extra access to CNN content and a live stream.

Now CNN is starting to offer free content on the CNNgo app for cord cutters.

Starting with the CNN series “Mostly Human” cord cutters will be able to watch every episode 100% free with no cable subscription. Other episodes in CNN’s new show will explore the life and death of ISIS hacker Junaid Hussain; a sexual assault that took place in the virtual world; and the infamous Ashley Madison hack along with its impact on the company and people’s lives.

Other CNN shows will be added to the service over time. Although it’s a step in the right direction don’t expect to get a free stream of the CNN live feed anytime soon. Yet CNN has been making the feed free for more events recently. Last year during the presidential debates a live feed was made available to all for free.

You can access CNNgo on the web, iOS and Android mobile apps, Smart TVs, and platforms such as Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV.

Hopefully other news networks will join CNN in making more of its content free online without the need for a cable-TV provider.
