Increasingly youth have been moving away from cable TV networks including networks made for kids like Cartoon Network.

To help address this, Cartoon Network is bringing back Toonami, a 5 PM to 7 PM Eastern time programming block. Not only is Toonami returning, but it will air classic shows including Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Naruto. This revival is aimed at attracting older fans of the classic block back to Cartoon Network that likely remember the shows fondly.

This new Toonami rewind block will include classic Toonami Bumpers and older classic Toonami Music.

Here is the new schedule (all times Eastern Standard Time):

5 PM Sailor Moon VIZ English Dub Version

5:30 PM Dragon Ball Z Kai

6 PM Dragon Ball Z Kai

6:30 PM Naruto

This new schedule will start May 31 and will lead into Adult Swim as the network tries to reconnect with an older fan base.

It is interesting that the block is being promoted as being run by Adult Swim and that Adult Swim will now start 5 PM Eastern.
