AMC is bringing their suite of streaming video on demand services to Charter, the network and cable provider announced in a statement today.

This deal includes Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, and UMC, following an already formed agreement between AMC and Charter to carry linear networks AMC, BBC America, BBC World News, IFC, Sundance TV, and WE TV. It seems that Spectrum is hoping to keep customers from adding a Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV to their living room by offering more streaming services through their set-top boxes.

“As both of our businesses continue to evolve, we are very pleased to expand our relationship by enriching Charter’s offering with our targeted SVOD services. Much like our networks, our SVOD services serve passionate audiences with the content they love,” said Ed Carroll, AMC Networks COO, in a statement.

“With partners like AMC Networks, we’re strategically enabling our customers to have greater control over the content they want, in one place through their Spectrum subscription, and with pricing flexibility to meet their needs,” added Tom Montemagno, exec VP of programming acquisition for Charter.

During AMC’s quarter 3 earnings call, AMC CEO Josh Sapan shared that AMC will not be licensing the upcoming new Walking Dead series. “Today we are in a position to optimize our content by using it in different ways without a one-size-fits-all approach,” he said, “strategically windowing each series.” He added that the series “will be used to fuel our own platforms, both streaming, as well as linear as we window it and take full advantage of the opportunities that it presents to us.”

In that call, Sapan also commented that AMC would continue looking for ways to bring in additional revenue with licensing deals and with content on the network’s own platforms as licensing deals with streaming services come to an end.

Could this mean that AMC is working on developing a new streaming service with original content in addition to making its content available through Charter? We’ll find out as licensing deals for AMC content come to an end.
