The final season of the HBO hit-show Succession has begun but fans can get more of series star Brian Cox. The award-winning actor will sit down for an exclusive one-hour interview about his life and career which will air on BritBox.
“An Interview with Brian Cox” will cover his early years in Scotland from his Shakespearean beginnings to his roles across film and television. Produced by Quigley Film and executive produced by Stephen Nye for BritBox International, the one-hour special is an extended version of an interview aired on the BBC in the UK last year.
This will be the first time that the Succession star has given such an in-depth interview in which he talks from the heart about his family and long career. During the interview, Cox will interrogate the idea of the “American Dream,” searching to discover whether anyone really can make it big if they work hard enough, or if this is just a myth.
“An Interview with Brian Cox” will be available to stream exclusively on BritBox on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the U.S. and Canada.

The Ghost of Richard Harris
Release Date: Tuesday, May 9
About The Ghost of Richard Harris:
The Ghost of Richard Harris reassesses Richard Harris – not only one
of the most charismatic and original screen actors to come from
Ireland, but someone who also played a significant role in cinema
history. There have been few actors who can boast of a similar
continuing relevance to cinema audiences, from the gritty social
realism of This Sporting Life to A Man Called Horse and the
blockbusting fantasies of the Harry Potter films. And Harris was
multi-talented: a best-selling poet and a chart-topping singer as well
as an award-winning stage actor….
The director Adrian Sibley has avoided a chronological approach to his
subject. Instead, he has used previously unheard audio recordings by
biographer Joe Jackson, and previously unseen family footage to
present an intimate insight to the complex life and work of Harris. He
has also drawn upon the memories of actors, directors and musicians –
such as Russell Crowe, Vanessa Redgrave, Jim Sheridan and Jimmy Webb –
with whom he worked.
Above all, the film focuses on what were the most important
relationships in Harris’ life: those with his sons, Damian, Jared and
Jamie – all of whom are also engaged in the film industry. The film is
structured so that Harris can speak directly to them as if from beyond
the grave – hence the doc’s title – and, by extension, in the same
direct way to the film’s audience. For that reason, Adrian did not
just shoot traditional interviews with the three sons but filmed with
them in locations that were of particular significance to their father
and to their connection with him.
Peter O’Toole: Along The Sky Road To Aqaba
Release Date: Tuesday, May 9
About Peter O’Toole: Along The Sky Road To Aqaba:
Peter O’Toole – Along The Sky Road To Aqaba centers around the
legendary actor Peter O’Toole, who brought a touch of danger to his
art and a stroke of madness to his life yet inspired a generation of
movie makers. Reflecting Peter O’Toole’s theatrical legacy, the film
is structured into four acts each introduced by a quote about O’Toole
that encapsulates his life during a specific period. Each act expands
into a holistic narrative addressing questions such as his
self-belief, his alcoholism, his relationships with women, his belief
in socialism and his selective embrace of Irishness. While O’Toole’s
words (gleaned from hundreds of hours of archival interviews) act as a
narrator of his own journey, director Jim Sheridan further explores
the story through interviews with O’Toole’s family, artists, actors
and directors that knew him well. Matter of Fact Films produces in
association with Treehouse Media and Alice Productions.
