Alana McGaughey joins BritBox as the vice president of global public relations and communications at the New York office. She joins BritBox from Netflix, where she launched publicity campaigns for several hit series, including the final season of Ozark and Shawn Levy’s All the Light We Cannot See, based on Anthony Doerr’s New York Times bestseller. Before Netflix, McGaughey was at Starz Entertainment for nearly a decade, working on publicity for Outlander and mega-hit titles in the Power universe.

BritBox operates in America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

The new leadership is part of BritBox’s next stage of growth, the company told Cord Cutters News. BritBox plans to evolve its internal leadership structure by creating a new global editorial team based in London, New York, and Sydney to help drive the platform’s acquisitions and commissions strategy.

“Bringing executives of the caliber of Nimesh and Alana onto the fantastic BritBox leadership team is testimony to the exciting mission and results we’re achieving,” said Reemah Sakaan, chief executive officer of BritBox International. “They bring a wealth of global streaming and content experience to us and join a business that has a unique clarity and model in today’s landscape.”
