Nielsen has released its ratings for the first week of 2021 and Netflix has once again outdone itself. The streamer held nine of the 10 spots on the list of shows that gained the most minutes watched from Dec. 28, 2020 to Jan. 3, 2021.
Bridgerton, Netflix’s Regency period drama that’s a steamy mix of storyline and scandal topped the chart with 2.648 billion minutes of viewing time across its eight episodes.
The streamer’s Karate Kid revival Cobra Kai took second place with 2.606 million minutes, which goes to show just how far ahead Bridgerton really is in popularity compared to every other show that week.
Netflix also claimed spots 3-4 with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and The Crown. Disney+ interrupted the streamer’s streak with its popular Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian which drew in 707 million minutes of viewing.
