The relocation process will conclude by early 2027, with staff members receiving notifications about the upcoming changes as early as two weeks before public reports surfaced. For 60 Minutes, the transition involves crossing the street to the CBS Broadcast Center, a sprawling facility that previously functioned as a dairy depot before becoming a central hub for media production. This building already accommodates the majority of CBS News operations, along with certain CBS Sports production elements, daytime talk shows, late-night programs, and even select programming from other networks.
Meanwhile, CBS Sports and Inside Edition will head to 1515 Broadway, a prominent office tower that once served as the primary New York base for the former Viacom entity and its array of cable channels. This location has housed various entertainment and media operations over the years, making it a logical fit for consolidating these groups.
The decision reflects a continuing trend of downsizing physical footprints that began after the 2019 merger between CBS and Viacom.
