2017 was packed full of new streaming services hitting the market. With some of the biggest names including Hulu’s live TV service, YouTube TV, and Philo launching.
This year we asked our readers to vote on the best new streaming service of 2017 as part of our Cordie Awards.
Let’s take a look at the best new streaming service of 2017.
In third place with 23.3% of the vote for Best New Streaming Service of 2017 is Philo. Although it is only a few months old, Philo has quickly taken on many well-established live TV streaming services with their sports-free offering.
In second place with 25.2% of the vote is YouTube TV. In 2017, Google’s long-rumored live TV streaming service became a reality with the launch of YouTube TV. For $35 YouTube TV has a nice lineup of channels and features, but many have criticized their lack of device support. Now Google is working on addressing that issue by rolling out app support for more devices including the Apple TV and Roku players. It will be interesting to see how that helps them grow in 2018.
The winner for Best New Streaming Service of 2017 is…
Hulu’s Live TV Streaming Service
With 35.6% of the vote Hulu’s live TV streaming service took first place. With a large lineup of channels and an even larger lineup of on-demand content, Hulu’s live TV streaming service was voted by our readers as the Best New Streaming Service of 2017.
Other services that received votes include Boomerang and Facebook’s new streaming service.
