Today Disney announced it’s record-breaking film Avatar will be available on Disney+ when it launches on November 12 in the U.S., Canada, The Netherlands, and at launch in Australia and New Zealand. Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming home to the futuristic movie.
This comes just before Avatar celebrates the 10th anniversary since its release in theaters on December 18, 2009. At its release, the film broke ground into new cinematic special effects, became the second highest-grossing film of all time, and went on to win The Oscar and Golden Globe awards.
“Avatar” will join the previously announced slate of original series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Lucasfilm, and more, in addition to the vast library of nearly 500 films and 7,500 television episodes. Disney+ is now available for pre-order in the U.S. for $6.99/month or $69.99/year.
Disney+ will also be home to a full library of original shows and movies exclusive to the streaming platform.
