Soon AT&T will launch a new live TV streaming service called AT&T TV. This new streaming service will be a streaming version of DIRECT and U-Verse TV. (Important note AT&T TV NOW and AT&T TV are two different services.) Now AT&T has updated the website for the new AT&T TV with some new details and a lot of links that don’t work. Reports are coming out that AT&T TV could launch as soon as this week as AT&T hopes to get a few test markets live by the end of August 2019.

Update: We have confirmed that AT&T TV will launch tomorrow. AT&T seems to have mistakenly posted about AT&T TV going live early and has taken down the AT&T TV website sending it to U-verse. You can learn more about this update HERE.

For some time now we have known that bundles for AT&T TV and AT&T Internet would be offered. Now AT&T TV’s website says that if you bundle both their new AT&T TV streaming services and AT&T Internet you will save $20 a month for 12 months.

Sadly, we don’t know much more as when you click on the page offering this bundle you get an error message with no additional details. Sadly many of the most interesting new links on AT&T TV’s website don’t work.

Some of the other updates to AT&T TV’s website include a new section to talk about what packages they will offer and local channels that will be avilaibe. Here is what it says:

What can I watch on AT&T TV?

AT&T TV offers access to live TV and up to 55,000 titles on demand. Compare all packages. (Sadly clicking on that link does not show any packages to compare.)

Requires subscription to top-tier ULTIMATE programming package and all premium channels.

What about my sports and local channels?

See what local channels are available in your neighborhood. (Again clicking on the link for local channels sends you to an error message.)

Rumors are out that AT&T TV will start rolling out as soon as this week. AT&T has said that the service will roll out in a handful of markets at first and be nationwide by the end of 2019. The update to the AT&T TV website for links to look at packages and local channels likely support the reports that AT&T will soon start rolling out the new AT&T TV.

AT&T describes the new AT&T TV as:

AT&T TV is our newest television experience that puts you in control. With access to live TV, thousands of titles on demand, 500 hours of Cloud DVR, and access to other apps like Netflix and Pandora, AT&T TV is your one-stop shop for all things entertainment.* AT&T TV comes with our 4K-enabled next-gen device and voice remote with the Google Assistant built-in.

AT&T TV will be built on the DIRECTV NOW backend using the same apps but is a very different service. DIRECTV NOW is being rebranded to AT&T TV NOW but do not confuse the two as they are different services with different packages. Just like how DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW had similar names but different packages, rules, and features as will AT&T TV and AT&T TV NOW.
