With more than one plan to choose from, depending on what you are looking for, AT&T may be the internet service provider for you.

If you want to know more about AT&T’s internet offerings, we’ll discuss services in this review.

What you need to know about AT&T

Choosing the right ISP is important when it comes to streaming, as your plan will impact how you are to watch content on services like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and others. Customers have access to both DSL and Fiber internet, and can choose between 9 different plans and 3 bundle packages. Customers can choose between AT&T TV or DirectTV when opting for a bundle package.  Note that a data cap of 1TB applies for most internet plans.

AT&T internet customers will be provided the necessary equipment to access the internet. This equipment can include a modem, wireless router, and cables, which will be provided to customers for a monthly fee of $10. An installation fee of $99 may also be charged to customers if a technician has to come to their home when service is started.

AT&T customers are entered in a contract or term agreement, which is typically 12 months. Customers who choose to switch to another provider before their contract or term agreement with AT&T has expired may be charged an early termination fee(ETF). Depending on the term agreement and how prematurely the contract or service agreement is terminated, the ETF can range from $15 to $180.

Additionally, within 21 days of AT&T service being terminated,  customers must return the equipment or they will be charged an equipment non-return fee of $150. If equipment is returned 6 months after service has ended and the fee has already been paid, AT&T will issue a refund.

In addition to the many internet plans available, one thing customers may enjoy about service with AT&T is the mobile app that makes account management easy and accessible. There is also a current AT&T promotion that offers customers signing up for new plans of 25Mbps or higher a $100 Visa Rewards Gift Card.

Choosing the right plan

When choosing the right plan, customers should consider a number of factors. Internet speed, fees, and cost may be at the top of the list when it comes to what influences a person’s decision. Consider how much you are willing to spend on your internet service, but you should also take your daily activities into account when answering this question.

For example, someone who is rarely home and uses the internet only to check their email wouldn’t want to select the Internet 25 package or the Xtra Package + Internet because they just don’t need the fast speed or the TV service.
