Today Apple officially announced their long-rumored streaming service. The service will work on Apple devices and any device that supports AirPlay 2 allowing you to watch Apple’s original content and subscribe to third-party services like HBO, Showtime, and Starz. Apple TV Channels will be rolled out in May of 2019. If you have used Amazon Channels to manage your subscription in the past you will feel right at home with Apple TV Channels.

Here you will be able to subscribe CBS All Access, HBO, Starz, AcornTV, Britbox, CuriosityStream, MTV Hits, Shudder, and more from the Apple TV app. To do this Apple is rolling out a redesigned Apple TV app.

Apple also announced that the Apple TV’s new app will be coming to Samsung, Vizio, LG, and Sony TVs. The Apple TV app is coming to Roku and the Fire TV. The Apple TV app will also have a new Kid section. Here you will find kid-friendly content from across multiple streaming services.

Want original content from Apple? Apple TV+ will also include access to Apple Originals from Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Oprah, and more. There will also be a new Sesame Street preschool show about coding new computer programs. Apple TV+ will launch in the Fall of 2019. Apple did not announce the price of the Apple TV+ but said there will be a monthly fee.

“We’re honored that the absolute best lineup of storytellers in the world — both in front of and behind the camera — are coming to Apple TV+,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We’re thrilled to give viewers a sneak peek of Apple TV+ and cannot wait for them to tune in starting this fall. Apple TV+ will be home to some of the highest quality original storytelling that TV and movie lovers have seen yet.”

Apple says they will use AI to recommend new shows and movies from across all of your subscriptions in a single place. No longer will you have to use different apps to access CBS All Access, Apple TV+, and HBO NOW.

With Apple News+ you will be able to access 300 magazines, news sites, and more for just $9.99 a month with no extra charge to share with your family. Apple says Apple News as you know it now will still be free.
