The Charlotte Hornets have joined a growing number of NBA teams airing their games for free on local TV. In partnership with Cox Media Group’s WSOC-TV Channel 9, sister station TV 64, and FanDuel Sports Southeast, the team announced that fans can watch the Charlotte Hornets for free on local, over-the-air TV for the first time since the 2007-2008 season.

Joining the rise of NBA teams moving to free OTA TV in recent years, with the two channels, the Hornets will reach an estimated 1.3 million homes in the Charlotte region and will air five games combined. The five-game slate will feature some of the league’s top names and biggest stars, barring injuries.

Teams and superstars that will be available to watch for free include LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers; Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and the Bucks; James Harden and the Clippers; Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, former Hornets PF PJ Washington, and the Mavericks; with the slate concluding with the return home of Charlotte-native Stephen Curry and the Warriors.
