Anime Streamer Crunchyroll is Now on Samsung Smart TVs

Crunchyroll, the largest anime streaming service, said on Monday it is now available on Samsung smart televisions.

The streaming service is now available as an app on Samsung smart TV models from 2017 through 2023. Users can find it in the Samsung Smart TV app store.

It’s the latest move by Crunchyroll to expand its reach, and the service gets a healthy base of Samsung users that rely on its homegrown operating system for its smart TV. The anime streamer is already available on all of the other major smart TV platforms, including Roku or Amazon Fire TV.

“We’re thrilled to enhance access to Crunchyroll for Samsung’s Smart TV users,” said Kaliel Roberts, chief product officer at Crunchyroll. “Samsung is providing a seamless experience for both dedicated anime fans and the anime-curious, allowing them to easily sign up and access their favorite anime directly on their TV screens.”

This comes after Crunchyroll launched as an option on Amazon’s Prime Video Channels, which lets you subscribe and pay through Amazon. It also launched a free 24/7 anime channel available on Freevee, Roku Channel, and Vizio WatchFree+.

Anime has come a long way from a niche area of interest with a small, but dedicated fanbase to something with mass appeal, with shows like Demon Slayer, One Piece, and Naruto drawing huge global audiences. That rise in interest has propelled Crunchyroll’s growth over the last few years. It’s available on nearly 15 platforms and is more than 200 countries and territories.
