As more Americans ditch cable TV than ever before, they are responding that they are also happier with streaming than ever before too.
According to a American Customer Satisfaction Index Telecommunications Study 2024. , American’s satisfaction with streaming video jumped 3% to an all-time high ACSI score of 79. That is 9 points higher than American’s satisfaction with cable TV services that averaged an ACSI score of 70.
“As more people embrace streaming options over bundled cable packages, this trend suggests that consumers are finding greater value in à la carte streaming services that let them customize their entertainment experiences,” says Morgeson. “Streaming bundles, for example, are popping up left and right, offering customers even more ways to consume the content they desire. It will be important for cable providers to adapt to these changing viewing habits and preferences.”
For the study they interviewed more than 25,000 customers between April 2023 and March 2024. As Americans move to streaming, they are happier with the streaming service than they were with cable.
Comcast’s customer satisfaction for their Xfinity TV service did go up 3% to 69 points, but YouTube TV, for example, had a customer satisfaction score of 77.
Put together, this is one more sign of why Americans are not only becoming cord cutters but are increasingly staying cord cutters and not going back to cable TV.
