In a massive shakeup, AMC is getting into the wrestling business with a new weekly appointment TV show. Starting January 15, 2026, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling’s flagship, Thursday Night iMPACT!, will air live on AMC and be available on AMC+, running Thursdays from 9–11 p.m. ET. The Curtis Culwell Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will host all of the action inside the squared circle for the network’s debut show.

With the latest move, TNA’s flagship show, which currently airs on AXS TV, is moving to a larger network that is carried on many popular live TV services, including DIRECTVSling TVPhilo, and YouTube TV. The simulstream on AMC+ gives the streaming-only crowd a way to catch the action without a traditional bundle.

Financial details of the deal were not announced, but sources told Insider Blake Avignon the deal is around $30 million. Last month, it seemed that A&E or The CW were the frontrunners in landing TNA, but SI’s Jon Alba reported AMC emerged as the possible suitor.

“We are super excited to bring the in-ring excitement, energy and drama of TNA Wrestling to AMC,” said TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva. “TNA Wrestling heads into 2026 the hottest it has ever been – with intense rivalries and a fan base that loves the TNA stars. We cannot wait to expand the TNA audience with our new partner, AMC Networks, which has such a long and storied history of serving passionate and engaged fans across so many shows and franchises, through this new media rights deal.”

TNA Continues to Cross the Line With Media Shakeup

In recent months, TNA has been coming off the top turnbuckle with a fresh set of media deals and partnerships. Last month, the promotion secured a multi-year deal with Claro Sports, which brings its content across Mexico and Latin America starting in 2026. Over the summer, the promotion’s streaming service, TNA+, expanded its access to fans and casuals alike by adding a free tier.

Known for its prestige dramas, cult-favorite series, and genre shows, AMC has established itself as home to iconic stories and characters over the years. Over the years, the network hasn’t offered a lineup of sports or live weekly programming, as it focuses more on scripted programming. By tag teaming with TNA, the network has stepped between the ropes of pro wrestling’s story-driven, action-packed world of flashy characters.

“TNA’s impressive growth and success is driven by the stories, characters and non-stop action fans love,” said Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer, AMC Networks and President of AMC Studios. “We put fans at the center of everything we do, and TNA has built its brand and its programming around that same dedication and focus. What a great opportunity to come together and make Thursday Night iMPACT! a dynamic and entertaining weekly event on AMC and AMC+ starting next month.”

Wrestling Continues to Clothesline Streaming

This AMC/TNA move isn’t happening in a vacuum, as the wrestling industry continues to look like a tag match between legacy TV and streaming platforms. With more subscribers ditching cable, streamers are seeing the value wrestling brings to their platform due to its year-round nature.

This upcoming January, WWE and Netflix will complete the first year of their 10-year, $5 billion deal. That partnership has been beneficial, with studies showing that WWE Raw has reduced subscriber churn and boosted growth. Additionally, the world’s largest wrestling promotion landed exclusive domestic PLE (premium live event) streaming rights with the ESPN DTC app. The company also kept its ties to NBCUniversal after striking a multi-year deal that made Peacock the exclusive home of WWE Saturday Night Main Event.

Elsewhere, earlier this year, the second-largest wrestling promotion, AEW, also expanded its pay-per-view distribution by adding PPVs inside HBO Max. By adding PPVs to the platform, fans can find all of AEW’s content in one place and have another app-native way to buy and stream live events. Additionally, with HBO Max, AEW PPVs are discounted compared to other distributors.

Beyond the major promotions, smaller companies have partnered up with digital platforms. Wrestling Central, Paramount’s FAST channel on The Roku Channel, is anchored by the NWA and WOW and streams weekly matches, classic archives, specials, and documentaries for free. NWA Powerrr also airs weekly live on the Roku Sports Channel.

For fans, the continued spread of wrestling content across streaming is giving cord cutters more ways than ever to watch without a bundle. TNA fans should mark their calendar for January 15, 2026, for a new era of a Thursday night destination for live wrestling with AMC+.
