Today Amazon announced the number of active accounts using a Fire TV. According to Amazon they now have over 30 million Fire TV accounts beating out Roku’s 27 million accounts according to an interview with CNET. (Now it is important to remember that accounts and number of devices sold are two different numbers. 1 account con represent multiple devices.)

Amazon and Roku have been fighting it for the most popular streaming device on the market. Being the largest streaming services in the market allows Roku and Amazon to push better deals with content providers.
