Amazon Will Let You Tip Your Delivery Driver $5 At No Cost to You – Here is How To Thank Your Delivery Drivers

Amazon has brought back its widely praised “Thank My Driver” initiative, allowing customers across the United States to send a $5 tip directly to their most recent delivery driver completely free of charge. The program, which first launched in 2022 and quickly became one of the company’s most talked-about customer appreciation efforts, lets shoppers express gratitude with just a few words or clicks while Amazon covers the entire cost of the tip.

Under the revived feature, any customer who says “Alexa, thank my driver” to an Alexa-enabled device or the Alexa mobile app will instantly trigger a $5 payment to the driver who delivered their latest package. Or you can also just click a button on Amazon’s website when logged in HERE. The driver receives an immediate notification that a customer has sent thanks, along with the $5 tip added to their earnings.

The program applies only to the driver responsible for a customer’s most recent delivery and is limited to packages delivered within the past 14 days. All Amazon delivery drivers in the United States, whether they work directly for Amazon or for one of its Delivery Service Partner companies, are eligible. Each individual delivery can receive multiple thank-you requests from the same customer, but the associated driver will be credited with only one official “thank you” and one $5 tip per order.

Customers do not need an Echo device or even a smartphone to participate. Those using a desktop or laptop browser can simply type “thank my driver” into Amazon’s search bar, while mobile users can accomplish the same task inside the Amazon shopping app. The Alexa voice command also works through the free Alexa app available on iOS and Android devices, making the process accessible to virtually every Amazon shopper.

Once a thank-you is submitted, it cannot be reversed or canceled. Customers with concerns about a specific delivery are directed to use Amazon’s standard order feedback system instead.

Amazon has positioned the initiative as a way to recognize the intense workload delivery drivers face, especially during the peak holiday shopping season when millions of packages move through the company’s network daily. By covering the cost of every $5 tip itself, the company removes any financial burden from customers while providing drivers with immediate, tangible appreciation.

The program originally ran as a limited-time promotion but generated such positive response from both customers and drivers that Amazon has brought it back multiple times. Delivery personnel have previously reported that the surprise tips and accompanying thank-you messages serve as meaningful morale boosts during long shifts in challenging weather and heavy traffic.

With holiday package volume expected to shatter previous records this December, the timing of the program’s return offers millions of customers a simple, no-cost way to acknowledge the individuals who ensure gifts and essentials arrive on doorsteps nationwide. The feature is active now and will remain available throughout the holiday season and beyond, giving shoppers ongoing opportunities to send appreciation with every new delivery.
