This week, Amazon has a big device event coming, and now we have a good idea of what they will be announcing. Multiple new devices are expected from Amazon including new Fire TVs. Recently, Amazon got FCC approval for two new Fire TV sticks. Details are still very thin, but AFTVnews.com spotted these listings, and there are a few things we learned.

According to the filings, one device will support the WiFi 6 standard, and the other will support the WiFi 6E standard the newest standard on the market. This likely points to a stand Fire TV Stick and a higher-end model. It’s likely to be a new Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max or something along those lines.

Leading up to this event Amaozn has had the Fire TVs on sale for weeks now. This has many to speculate that the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K are both about to be updated as Amazon clears out stock.

The current Fire TV Stick 4K Max was released back in early October 2021. With Amazon’s history of updating Fire TV models every two years or so it should be expected that the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is very likely to be getting a new refresh in 2023.

Update: the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is now listed as unavailable. Adding to speculation it will get a new version this week.

You can get the Fire TV Stick 4K Max for just $26.99! That’s down from the typical list price of $54.99. It’s a really great price for a powerful streaming player. Plus it comes with the new Wifi 6 for faster streaming over WiFi.

Amazon also has its Fire TV Stick 4K on sale for $24.99, but for the extra $2, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a better option.

Recently, Amazon announced a September 20, 2023, event for new devices. This date was announced by Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, David Limp, who posted this save-the-date announcement:

“The Devices & Services team has already had a very busy year, and now that Amazon’s HQ2 is officially open, it only feels right to gather there in a few months to share a bit more of what we’ve been working on. Mark your calendar for 9/20 for some news from us!”

It seems very likely these new Fire TVs will be announced at this event. We will have full coverage of the event when it happens.
