Amazon Prime Video Add 5 New Free Holiday Channels As Freevee Shuts Down

Just in time for the holiday season, Amazon Prime Video is adding a festive lineup of free live TV channels to its offerings, bringing holiday cheer to viewers with a variety of seasonal programming. This comes as Freevee shuts down and its content moves to the Prime Video app, which is free for all.

New Holiday-Themed Channels

  • Hallmark Holiday Favorites: A cozy collection of feel-good Hallmark holiday movies to warm your heart and spread holiday cheer.
  • Holiday Movie Favorites by Lifetime: A 24/7 channel featuring a star-studded lineup of Lifetime holiday movies to get you in the festive spirit.
  • Always Christmas: Enjoy a variety of classic and new holiday movies, from heartwarming romances to seasonal favorites, all year round.
  • Vevo Holiday: Celebrate the season with current and classic holiday music videos from your favorite artists like Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, and John Legend.
  • America’s Test Kitchen Holidays: Find inspiration for your holiday feasts with around-the-clock cooking demonstrations, recipes, and entertaining ideas from America’s Test Kitchen.

PBS Joins the Festivities

In addition to these holiday channels, Amazon is also expanding its partnership with PBS, bringing more than 150 local PBS stations and the PBS KIDS Channel to Prime Video as free ad-supported channels. This marks the first time this programming will be available for free on a major streaming service.

Furthermore, PBS Distribution will offer two new exclusive FAST channels – PBS Drama and PBS Documentaries – for a limited time starting November 26th. A rotating “pop-up” channel featuring classic PBS shows like “Reading Rainbow” will also be available.
