Amazon is rolling out an enticing offer for car buyers this spring providing a $2,300 Amazon gift card to Prime members who purchase a new Hyundai vehicle through its Amazon Autos platform. The deal, which runs until April 15, 2025, aims to attract customers to its relatively new online car-buying service, launched in December 2024, by sweetening the purchase with a significant gift card incentive. This move underscores Amazon’s push to expand its e-commerce dominance into the automotive sector, starting with a partnership with Hyundai across 48 U.S. cities.

Amazon Autos allows buyers to browse, finance, and purchase new 2024 and 2025 Hyundai models—ranging from cars and SUVs to electric vehicles like the Ioniq 5—entirely online, with transparent, no-haggle pricing. The process is designed for convenience: customers can filter vehicles by model, trim, color, and features, all within a 75-mile radius of their location. Once a car is selected, buyers can customize financing terms through Hyundai Motor Finance (with terms from 24 to 72 months) or opt for a cash purchase with a minimum $500 down payment on Amazon, completing the rest at the dealership. After financing approval or down payment, buyers schedule a pickup time, finalize paperwork online, and collect their vehicle from a participating local dealership, where they can also opt for a test drive.
The $2,300 gift card incentive, split across two separate cards, is emailed within two weeks of vehicle pickup, but there are legal stipulations. Only Prime members aged 18 or older (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction) are eligible, and current Hyundai dealership or Hyundai Motor America employees are excluded. The gift cards are non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be resold, per Amazon’s terms. If a vehicle is returned before the incentive is issued, eligibility is voided. Additionally, any deal modifications post-financing—such as adding a co-buyer or switching to a lease—disqualify the buyer from receiving the gift card.
Amazon Autos emphasizes a stress-free experience, providing detailed vehicle information, customer reviews, and pricing breakdowns upfront, with savings and rebates applied during checkout. Trade-ins are also supported, with valuations provided by an independent service, valid for seven days and non-negotiable. Privacy is a priority, with Amazon referencing its Privacy Notice for details on data protection, and buyers can add Hyundai protection plans like the Platinum Vehicle Service Contract during checkout. However, the service is limited to personal Amazon accounts—Amazon Business accounts are not eligible—and currently only features Hyundai vehicles, though Amazon plans to add more brands in 2025.
While the gift card offer is a draw, some industry observers question whether the no-haggle pricing might lead to higher costs compared to traditional dealership negotiations, and the limited brand selection could deter buyers seeking variety. Still, for Prime members in one of the 48 participating cities, this deal offers a compelling reason to test Amazon’s foray into car sales, blending the convenience of online shopping with a hefty post-purchase bonus.
