Amazon has made a last-minute offer to buy TikTok, according to a report from The New York Times.

With an April 5 deadline to find a non-Chinese buyer for the app before a U.S. ban is put in place, the President is reportedly looking at multiple offers.

“We have a lot of potential buyers,” Trump told reporters on Sunday, Reuters reported. “There’s tremendous interest in Tiktok,” adding, “I’d like to see Tiktok remain alive.”

Because TikTok is currently owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company, there is concern about the app collecting data about American users and that data being used by the Chinese government. Both Democrats and Republicans have expressed national security concerns. A law was passed last year, saying that the app needed to be sold by January in order to stay active in the U.S. While the app temporarily went dark, the ban was delayed until this month.

Private equity group Blackstone has shown interest in a minority stake of the app, which would create a separate entity for U.S. operations of TikTok and give China less ownership. Tech company Oracle has also shown interest. The Amazon bid is reportedly for the entire app, not just a minority stake.

White House officials are scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss TikTok.
