Amazon is celebrating 10 years of Fire TVs by rolling out a new search powered by Amazon’s own AI that will help make watching TV more personal. This new AI search will let you search for things in a more natural way. One of the things Fire TVs are best known for is their powerful voice search capabilities. Now, Amazon is rolling out an even better voice search powered by AI.
Here are some examples of what the new AI-enhanced voice search commands you could use on the Fire TV now:
Search by topic:
- “Find sci-fi TV shows about time travel.”
- “Show me classic comedy series about roommates.”
Search by genre:
- “Find Korean horror films.”
- “Find me medical drama shows.”
Search by plot:
- “Find the mystery movie set on a private island.”
- “Show me movies where people get sucked into a video game.”
Search by quote:
- “What movie has the line, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates?’”
- “Find me the show where someone says, ‘Winter is coming.’”
With this update all US Fire TVs in English running FOS6 or later will be able to take advantage of this new search in the coming weeks.
These new features make it the largest jump in Fire TV voice search since Alexa was added in 2015. As there is growing competition to be the device to offer streaming in your living room, Amazon seems to hope this update will help it stand out from others.
