Amazon is Testing a Free to Me Filter for Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is making it easier to find the content you’re looking for. Since launch people have complained about Amazon mixing paid and free content together in the Prime Video app. Now in the newest version of the app in the Play Store, you’ll find a few new features to make it easier to find the free content you want.

One new feature is Top Actors, allowing users to follow their favorite actors. When a new series of movie featuring that actor is added to Prime Video, you’ll get a notification so you can add that content to your list and watch now or later.

Next up is the Free to Me feature. When searching or browsing content on Prime Video, turning on this feature will limit search results to content that is free with Amazon Prime. You’ll no longer have to sift through your results to make sure the movie or TV show you want to watch is free, rather than available only by renting or buying, or watching with a premium channel subscription.

Finally, Amazon is planning to add a smart download feature, similar to the one offered by Netflix. This feature will automatically download the next episode of a series you’re watching so you won’t have to wait for the next episode.

These features aren’t yet permanent additions or available to all users, but we hope they’ll be added for everyone soon.
